My card scanner is not working. What do I need to do?
As with most peripheral devices, card scanners connect to the host computer via a USB cable. If you should find that your card reader is non-functioning the first step in troubleshooting is to verify that it is plugged in properly and powered on. If it is plugged in and powered on then the next step is to completely unplug the unit, wait about 10 seconds and then plug it back in. Doing this will fully power cycle the scanner and will often take care of minor glitches/problems that may occur. If it is still malfunctioning, the next step is to reboot your computer by going to Start > Shutdown > Restart. If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact the SergeMD Support Desk.
